I have been very fortunate to have had some wonderful teachers,
especially;
Roland Dyens, Professor of Guitar, Conservatoire National
Superieur de Musique de Paris, France.
Roland taught me one of the most important aspects of playing
the guitar; how to create sound on the instrument. Via his inspiring
teaching, I have found my own palate of colours, which has continued to
develop as I come to understand the endless possibilities that the guitar offers
the musician. Roland is one of today's most wonderful performer and teacher.
Dr
Christopher Wynn Parry, MBE MA FRCS FRCP. Consultant Rheumatologist and
Honorary Physician to BAPAM. Dr Wynn Parry is a outstanding
personality in Performing Arts Medicine and I have learnt so much from his
lectures and writings over the years. I am also deeply grateful for his continuing
support and belief in my work.
Ilana Machover, Alexander teacher at the Royal Academy of
Music London, UK.
Ilana has been my teacher since 1995, and without her amazing
ability to transform her students through the Technique, I would not have
developed my playing/teaching to the level it has today. Because of her
experience as a teacher and her understanding of the human psyche, she has given me
the key to create a way of becoming one with my instrument. Ilana gave me
a map of my body.
And finally I would like to
thank my parents
Grete and Ole for giving me life, Viji and Kirthi for help with the photos and
babysitting our daughters Sophia and Emilia, and especially Dani for all her love, patience and encouragement.
